Step 3: Put a small amount of Nutella in the middle of each triangle, and then take the two bottom edges of the triangle and roll them towards the top continue until it looks like a croissant.

Step 4: You can also make some egg wash, by mixing an egg and some water, then spreading some on each croissants.

Step 5: Place in the oven for 10 minutes, once they are ready take them out the oven and let them rest for a couple minutes.

Alternatively, you could fill these with caramel, chocolate, marshmallows, cheese and ham. You could also make them into any shape you wanted. These are perfect for sharing with friends and family as a sweet treat, you could even do them for breakfast. These are best eaten hot but can also been eaten cold.

Tomato and mozzarella bruschettas

Hi everyone,

Little toasted bruschetta with mozzarella and tomatoes (Serves 4 to 6 people) what you will need:
  • -       1 garlic clove
  • -       olive oil
  • -       2 mozzarella balls
  • -       2/3 tomatoes
  • -       non-stick baking paper
  • -       coriander
  • -        black pepper
  • -       6 or 4 uncooked white rolls/ baguettes

Step 1: Line your baking tray with a sheet of baking paper and pre-heat the oven to 200°(fan oven) or Gas mark 7.

Step 2: Prepare the small baguettes by cutting them in half down the middle, try and make them approximately the same size, line them up on the baking tray and add a drizzle of olive oil on each bruschetta. Then, peal and separate a clove of garlic and rub the garlic on all the bruschetta so the flavour sinks in them.

Step 3: Place these in the oven for 5 minutes or for half the time that is indicated to cook the small baguettes, while these are cooking start slicing the mozzarella into thin slices. Once you have done this, start cutting the tomatoes in half after you have washed them, then dice them.

Step 4: Once the 5 minutes have gone by, take the bruschetta out the oven and they should be a little bit crispy but not completely cooked. Place 1 or 2 slices of mozzarella on each bruschetta, then add a couple pieces of diced tomato. Afterwards, place the tray in the oven for another 5 minutes.

Step 5: When the bruschetta are cooked, the bread should be crispy and the cheese should be melted. Take them out of the oven, add some black pepper, you can also had some chopped up coriander or basil.

You could serve the bruschetta on a plate or a wooden board, you could accompany them with some dough balls which you just need to heat up in the oven for a couple minutes and some pretzel crisps and mini breadsticks.

Welcome to Bon appétit!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my first blog post on Bon appétit, which I am doing as part of my third year marketing course at university. I am writing this blog on french inspired, easy and quick recipes of snack foods to share. I got my inspiration from French culture, specifically the tradition of having drinks and snacks before dinner around 6 or 7 o'clock, called an 'apéritif' or an 'apéro'. French people spend hours and hours sitting at a table eating their meals, course after course, they looove their food.
When they have the opportunity to, they will sit at the dinning table the whole day just eating and chatting away.

Apéritifs (or apéros) are really just an excuse to drink a lot and eat lots of crisps and unhealthy foods. So, I am providing a couple of recipes that are semi-healthy, cheap to make with only a few ingredients, quick and easy to prepare. These recipes are perfect for sharing with family and friends, for birthday parties, before a night out, Fresher's week, or just any type of celebration or social gathering. These recipes only take about 30 minutes or less to prepare and serve, so you do have the time to prepare them if you are organising something last minute. You do not have to be great at cooking for these, these do not require a lot of skills just a little effort. These recipes are also budget friendly, so do not worry about the cost.

My next post will be my first family or friend sharing style recipe, which will be bruchettas with tomatoes and mozzarella.
